Malaysia Snubs Avril Lavigne?
Calling the Sk8er Boi’s stage acts “too sexy” for the local audience, various groups have been putting pressure on the government to cancel Avril Lavigne’s upcoming show in Kuala Lumpur this August 29.

As Kamarulzaman Mohamed, a member of the youth division for the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party puts it, Lavigne’s performance is considered too sexy for us...it's not good for viewers in Malaysia.” As quoted by the Associated Press, Mohamed further denounces Lavigne’s show and calls for its cancellation, saying, "We don't want our people, our teenagers, influenced by their performance. We want clean artists, artists that are good role models."

No word yet on whose side Malaysia's Culture, Arts and Heritage Ministry is taking.
