After checking into the Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah earlier this week, rumors circulated that Kirsten Dunst was battling drug addiction. In an interview with E! Online, the 26-year-old actress cleared up the speculations, saying that she checked into rehab because she suffered from depression, and not drugs.

"I was struggling, and I had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself," the Spider-Man star said in the interview, "I was fortunate to have the resources to do it. My friends and family thought it was a good idea, too."

The famous child actress also said, "There's been a lot of misrepresentation about what is going on in my life, and it's been very painful for my friends and family.” A regular party girl who once said that "the world would be a better place" if everyone smoked marijuana, Dunst decided to speak up about her depression to dispel the rumors about her chronic drug use.
