Archie knows the way to get to the top.

Crooner David Archuleta is said to be working on his debut album and has sought the help of Rock Mafia Records, the label responsible for Miley Cyrus’ hits 7 Things and See You Again.

A source told E! News that Jeff Archuleta, David’s father-manager, just met with Rock Mafia bosses Antonia Armato and Tim James, who’s involved with eight of the songs on Cyrus’ latest project, Breakout. The duo has also worked previously with Vanessa Hudgens and Mariah Carey.

The insider said that dad and son Archuleta are of the belief that they should go “in that direction” and that they “want a Miley touch to the album.”

Archuleta may need a multitude of catchy pop tunes on a par with his Disney-propelled forerunner, most especially if we take into consideration some reports claiming that his record label is keen on releasing his album on the same day that American Idol winner David Cook drops his.

However, Archie doesn’t really have much to worry about. He has always had a legion of screaming fans even during his AI days.
